reseting an apple password

this will create a new admin account that you access the other admin account with the lost password

1.

Switch on the apple computer

whilst booting hold down control and s

this will boot into single user mode

 
2.

once in single user mode type in

/sbin/fsck -y

this will check the file system

 
3.

then after pressing enter type

/sbin/mount -uw /

this will mount the file system

 
4.

then after pressing enter type

rm /var /db/.applesetupdone

 
5.

then after pressing enter type

reboot

 

Conclusion

the computer will reboot and will run the first time setup once again, here it will ask you for a admin account name and password then log you on with these credentials once logged on you can see and edit the details for the other admin account that you have lost the password for
